Records


The Records unit maintains the retention and distribution of police reports. They are also charged with ensuring the appropriate flow of information within the department.

Citizen Volunteers


COPs are specifically charged to function as “Additional Eyes and Ears” for public safety, serve as “Goodwill Ambassadors” for the Police Department and the City and support the operations and administration functions of the Police Department.

Crime Analysis


The Crime Analysis unit reviews criminal activity within the city and discovers patterns that allow the patrol and investigation units to direct their efforts toward combating specific trends. The unit also shares the information with surrounding agencies to identify multi-jurisdictional offenders.

Animal Control


The Animal Control unit works to ensure the safety of citizens and pets while enforcing animal related laws. The City of Lincoln currently contracts with Placer County Animal Control for its animal control service.

Property and Evidence


The Property and Evidence unit oversees the storage and processing of physical evidence. Some of their duties included preparing evidence for court, disposal of evidence, and the return of property to its owner.

Professional Standards and Training


The Professional Standards and Training unit reviews procedures established by the Lincoln Police Department and constantly evaluates the needs to improve the procedures. The unit also evaluates new training opportunities for the department.
